Todd Snap

Todd Snap was originally supposed to be just "Snap," but when he first appeared in his debut episode Pokémon Paparazzi on Kids' WB! he was referred to as "Todd." He travelled with the group in this episode and through the next two episodes, The Ultimate Test and The Breeding Center Secret. In the Nintendo 64 game Pokémon Snap, he is still referred to as Todd.

Then, in all VHS and DVD releases of the above episodes, he is referred to as "Snap."

Years later, the group meets him again in Johto, where he travels with them again in the episodes Moving Pictures, Spring Fever, and  Freeze Frame. This time, he's referred to as "Todd" on TV and on home video releases. There is a theory involving cereal company Kellogg's and their character Snap (one of the Rice Krispies mascots), where the name "Snap" could not be aired on television for legal reasons.

When Pokémon Snap was re-released on the Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console in 2007, Nintendo put an end to this confusion by confirming that "Todd" is his first name and "Snap" is his last name, making both names correct and his full name "Todd Snap."

The "Todd" versions of Pokémon Paparazzi, The Ultimate Test, and The Breeding Center Secret are the ones aired on Cartoon Network and Boomerang, whereas the "Snap" versions of the same episodes are the ones currently available on DVD. I want copies of the "Todd" versions, so if anyone has these, please share. I'm not sure if old episodes of Pokémon air on Boomerang anymore, but if they do, please record (I can't get Boomerang, Comcast doesn't offer it).
